Northwest Goju Ryu . . . Niagara Area Seiwa Kai Senior Dojo

Our dojo exists for one reason:

To provide excellent training in the way of Okinawan and Japanese Goju Ryu Karate-do.

Shihan Doug Meagher (Godan) is the chief instructor and has the following message to prospective students of the dojo:

"If you want to train seriously in the ways of Goju Ryu Karate-do, expect to intensely study the following:

  • Basic stances, blockes, punches, kicks;
  • Kata (forms);
  • Kata Bunkai;
  • Tuite;
  • Throws and Takedowns;
  • Pressure Point Theories and Application (hands on);
  • Bio-mechanics and Body mechanics;
  • Chi (energy manipulation);
  • Body Alarm Reaction;
  • Martial Arts History and Geography.

As a student of Karate, consider your time training as school. You will be expected to have a notebook in hand for every class to note things you need to improve upon. It is expected you will practice what you have learned while on your days away from training. In school, you will learn properly. At home, you must practice properly."

Training with Shihan Meagher means serious training in Goju Ryu Karate. All belt levels are welcome - ages 5 and up!

If you're ready to train at Northwest Goju Ryu Karate, and we mean REALLY TRAIN, then the door's open to you. Come on in. We don't bite . . .

. . . but we do Goju Ryu Karate VERY WELL. We look forward to seeing you soon.
